St Therese's School Bentley Park

St Therese's Parish School is an integral part of the Cairns Diocese and the Edmonton Parish. Located just 20 minutes south of Cairns City, St Therese's provides Catholic Education to an area that is currently referred to as the 'growth corridor' of Cairns.  The first Catholic school in Edmonton, Edmonton Convent School, was established by the Sisters of Mercy on the 29th April, 1929, with an enrolment of just 30 students. About the Role

The School Learning Officer's role is to work with the classroom teacher to meet the learning goals of students, some of whom have diverse learning needs.  

Typical duties of a School Learning Officer include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with evaluating and assessing the learning needs of students while under the direction and / or supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Attend meetings by invitation, involving parents, teachers and / or specialists where appropriate to discuss student progress and needs

• TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
• TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;
• TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;
• TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;
• Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Salary 

• Casual  - $103.94 gross per hour (TAFE Queensland Educators’ Certified Agreement 2023)
• Teacher - $85,142.38 - $96,376.42 gross per annum (TAFE Queensland Educators’ Certified Agreement 2023)
