Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with European Honey Bees (Apis mellifera species)
  • Utilising appropriate personal protective equipment (supplied) 
  • Safely lighting and extinguishing a hive smoker
  • Harvesting honey from hives 
  • Working in the honey extraction facility to extract honey
  • Construction and maintenance of hive equipment

About the Role

Darwalla is seeking motivated Leading Hand to work in our modern chicken hatchery, located in Allora, between Toowoomba & Warwick.  The hatchery can operate 7 days per week, but you will generally be required to work a minimum of 38 hours per week, over 4 days/week with 5.30am starts.  Applicants should have a flexible approach to changing work times/days and working overtime as and when production requires, so having your own reliable transport is a must.

The successful candidates will be required to carry out a wide range of tasks including effective supervision of a team, daily duties allocation, data entry, accurate preparation and completion of production documentation, egg setting and transfer, chick take-off and processing, vaccine preparation, and various cleaning jobs. The work will be quite physical, so applicants must be fit and healthy.  A pre-employment medical will be undertaken.

We are seeking fulltime Animal Attendants to work on our farms in the Leyburn area, 50 minutes from both Warwick and Toowoomba, QLD. To be successful in the role you will need to have a positive attitude and a willingness to work with livestock. 

Prior experience in the pig industry is preferred however all candidates will be provided training to ensure they are successful within the role. Performing well in this role can lead to further career opportunities and training within the company. 

The main responsibilities of the role are animal husbandry tasks which include: 

  • Maintaining high animal welfare standards

As the Commissioning Lead, you will coordinate and control the commissioning of electrical substation and transmission lines on the Wind Farm.

Complete the initial commissioning plans that are in place, whilst reviewing them for potential gaps. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and execute commissioning and energization plans for the entirety of the wind farm systems in consultation with the TNSP, AEMO, wind farm contractors and suppliers, and our remote control center.
  • Manage and coordinate all on-site testing and commissioning activities between all stakeholders
  • Facilitate coordination meetings between all relevant stakeholders during the commissioning phase.
  • Develop, monitor, and report against the project commissioning schedule, and identify measures to correct deviations from the schedule as soon as possible.
  • Liaise with project construction, engineering, and planning teams to ensure all enabling construction and engineering works are planned and integrated into the project master schedule.
  
Required skill set
  • Experience taking a new generating asset through all of the commissioning life cycle. 
  • Experienced working on electrical substations and transmission lines
  • Understand the planning aspect of commissioning an advantage
  • Familiarity and proven competence with wind farm technologies and HV/LV electrical equipment would be an advantage
