Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar management role in a Wholesale Plant Nursery (preferably native plants).
• A relevant tertiary qualification and/or;

• Experience in the provision of horticultural services and programs with a diverse range of plant materials, and the maintenance/use of associated plant/equipment in accordance with nursery hygiene practices.

• Proven experience in the coordination, operational maintenance and team leadership in the nursery environment.
• Ability to optimise plant performance, including: nutritional requirements; knowledge of weed, pest and disease identification, and control using IPM strategies
• Experience with irrigation systems
• Maintenance and use of a wide range of horticultural plant and equipment.
• Knowledge and experience using computer software programs to record, maintain, and extract information.
• A current and valid Driver’s License
• First Aid Level II

Desirable

• Strong planning ability with sufficient business and financial acumen in order to effectively manage Nursery budgets with support from the General Manager
