About this Role

As Experienced Maintenance Employee Drainage, you will use your skills and knowledge to perform a range of asset and infrastructure activities throughout Latrobe City.

Working hours will be from 7:00AM - 4:00PM with 9-day fortnight. Workdays will be starting and concluding at Latrobe City Council's depot at Driffield Rd, Morwell.

About You

For this role, we are seeking someone with a good knowledge of the standards, regulations and practices relevant to storm water maintenance and infrastructure along with practical experience in the use of high pressure drain cleaning equipment.

You will need:

  • Current Heavy Rigid Vehicle license as a minimum.
  • Possession of a current certificate recognising that the holder has been trained and assessed to competently undertake confined space entry.
  • Practical experience in the use of high pressure cleaning equipment used in piped drainage maintenance.
  • A good knowledge of the standards, regulations and practises relevant to signs maintenance and installation.
  • Ability to interpret basic diagram, plans and written instructions.
  • Traffic Control and Worksite Management certificate.
  • Construction Induction (White Card)

About the Role

Baw Baw Shire Council has an opportunity for a Street Sweeper Operator to join the Infrastructure Maintenance Team on a 12-month contract basis.

We are on the hunt for someone to effectively carry out street sweeping cleaning tasks within the Baw Baw Shire community. Achieving a high standard of street cleanliness for all of Council’s open space areas and related urban infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:
• Operate plant and equipment including attachments to clean and maintain infrastructure (including drainage, pavement, pavement marking, road signs, guardrails, barbecues, shelters, etc.) within the Baw Baw Shire Council in a safe, competent, and efficient manner.
• Maintain plant and equipment daily including keeping all in a clean and tidy condition.
• Ensure that all tasks undertaken by the position are carried out in a healthy and safe manner and that unsafe aspects of the workplace are immediately rectified and/or reported to your supervisor when appropriate; and
• Perform other duties as directed within the skills and abilities required of this role.

The role will see you work into the existing operator schedule as follows:
o Week one 3am -1pm Monday -Thursday
o Week two 7am-5pm Monday to Thursday
o Saturday 6am-10:30am optional overtime (not compulsory)

About the Successful Candidate

What you will deliver 

  • Supervise civil and landscaping works for Council assets, ensuring adherence to standards and requirements.
