The Role

Applications are invited for the position of Loader Operator to join the MSF Sugar team. This is a fixed-term seasonal full-time position, located at our Tableland Mill, which is approximately 25km west of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands.

The position forms part of the site operations team on shift and is responsible for safely operating the mobile plant to carry out the transportation and stockpiling of bagasse.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Safely operating the mobile plant to carry out the transportation and stockpiling of bagasse.
  • Operating a Loader and truck to reclaim biomass for Co-Generation
  • Conducting prestart checks and reporting any defects and carrying out general pre start maintenance on mobile plant associated with this task.
  • During times of high crush rates, surplus bagasse is produced and needs to be managed; this involves transporting surplus bagasse to the site stock piles via 55m³ trucks and profiling the stockpile with the loader to the site standard.
  • Ability to perform work while wearing appropriate PPE (e.g. long clothing, hearing and eye protection, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
  • Ability to perform work in a standing position for long periods in a vibrating environment.
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs regularly as well as the ability to bend and work with back hunched for short periods.

Additional skills are highly desired.
