We are currently seeking Trainee Belt Splicers/Belt Splicers/Rubber Liners to join our dynamic team in Geraldton, Western Australia.
We also have positions available in our other branches – Perth, WA and Brisbane, Queensland.
These positions will support our existing Belt Splicing team to deliver an efficient, safe, and effective service to all our customers.

Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide quality support to our team of experienced staff to deliver quality work in a timely manner. This includes carrying out preparation and movement of stock, maintaining a tidy work area, and other general trades assistance activities.
- Support the Belt Splicers to deliver on customer orders including surface preparation, preparing belts.
- Under supervision, carry out timely completion of repairs, maintenance, assembly or installation of a new and used conveyor belt according to work instructions and in alignment with standard procedures and practices, including the completion of all relevant documentation.
- Under supervision, perform splicing and repairs on all types of conveyor belts including PVC, steel cord belts, hot and cold splice ply fabric and solid woven belt, ensuring using correct technique for the material used and following standard procedures and practices.
- Under supervision, carry out lagging of and repairs conveyor pulleys involving stripping and painting pulleys, applying appropriate lagging using appropriate adhesive and solvents.
- Assist with the installation of, and maintenance on, mechanical conveyor system components including idlers, scrapers, rollers, and frames.
- Assist with the preparation, installation, maintenance, and repair of rubber lining projects, including preparation of surfaces, selection, and application of materials.
- Take a proactive approach to understanding and interpreting technical drawings and diagrams, following the direction provided.
- Assist with the preparation, packaging, labelling and loading of materials and equipment required to complete work activities.
- Operate a variety of plant, machinery and equipment including vulcaniser presses, overhead cranes, winches, belt winders, forklifts and hand tools as per procedures and specifications, ensure are stored correctly and maintained in good working condition.
- Contributes to maintaining a clean, tidy and organised Site, and takes responsibility for maintaining an ordered and safe immediate work area.
- Complies with customer and other stakeholder requirements, and takes a proactive approach to engaging with, and participating in, customer pre-requisite activities.

- A professional, pro-active and flexible and hands-on approach to work.
- Trainees: some mechanical experience (desirable)
- Belt Splicers / Rubber Liners: Minimum of 1 years’ experience
- Forklift (LF) High-Risk Work Licence (desirable)
- Dogging and basic Rigging High-Risk Work Licence (desirable)
- Working at Heights card (desirable)
- Enter and Working in Confined Space card (desirable)
- White Card
- Class C Driver’s Licence
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with stakeholders
- Be physically fit to do manual labour and must be able to successfully pass on-boarding medicals, Lab Drug & Alcohol test, and a National Police Clearance check.
