About the role: 

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor / OCE at our Castlereagh Coal group. Our operations consist of two small, but dynamic mining operations Invincible Colliery and Cullen Valley Mine. Our surface operations are low strip ratio, utilising excavators and trucks, located 20 kilometres north of Lithgow. The OCE roster is currently 7 on / 7 off, dayshift only. The rostered production shifts are 10.5hours long.

Across the entire operation's stakeholder teams in plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and production, we are looking for those who will deliver to plan, work effectively and collaboratively in delivering an outcome of excellence and assisting us in our innovation.

Reporting to the operations superintendent, the scope of your role will be to guide the mining crew to safely achieve production targets in compliance with all relevant procedures and statutes.

This rare opportunity presents career development for the right candidate, due to the size and flat management structure our operations leads itself to promote professional development with exposure to all facets of our broader mining operations.

We are looking for someone able to demonstrate, through collaboration, a history of effective leadership and accountability in safely delivering production goals. Your success in the role will be recognisable through your facilitation of the team’s achievement of high-performance targeted metrics in both safety and production.

 

Duties will include:

  • Set and demonstrate a proactive approach to health, safety and environmental standards and ensure a safe working environment is maintained.

Driving a concrete agitator truck for Hanson is more than just going from A to B and back again. About the role:

  • This role will be based out of the Bathurst Concrete Plant.
  • Most days will start between 6am and 6:30am and drivers can do up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 50 - 55 hours per week. Saturday work is as required and is paid at overtime rates
  • We pay a base rate for the first 8 hours of your day, Monday to Friday. After these 8 hours, the next two hours will be at time and a half. If you do more than 10 hours in a day, you go to double time. Meal allowances are generally paid after 10 hours in one shift
  • As we mentioned, driving an Agi is like being a Customer Service Agent on wheels. You will be dealing with lots of different personalities every day, so you need to be comfortable interacting with people you haven't met before

  • All new starts go through a 10-day training program before we let you loose by yourself

  • Manage concrete slump tolerance levels and the discharge of concrete
  • Complete basic documentation associated with the collection and delivery of concrete
  • Maintain professional customer relationships
  • Maintain the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition
  • Undertake general duties including plant cleaning and housekeeping

What you will need to succeed

  • Current HR (Heavy Rigid) drivers licence
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Relevant concrete industry experience will be highly regarded, however full training will be provided
  • Flexibility to work in a small team environment and assist with other duties as required
  • Current white card
  • A reliable team player attitude with a focus on customer service
